FAQ OF INVESTORS AND CUSTOMERS

FAQ INVESTORS

Have you conducted thorough market research or surveys to understand demand, customer preferences, and the competitive landscape in Terrace, BC?

As i am running a mobile cafe in Terrace, BC Here’s how I’d approach market research and customer testing practically and realistically:

First, I’d start by understanding the local demand. Terrace has a diverse and growing population, so as i am working in Starbucks and also had experience in McDonald because of them i confront the all demographic and has drink lovers have own choice, from them i get a better idea of what people want, I’d conduct surveys or focus groups to find out their preferences for coffee types, food items, and service styles. Online survey tools like SurveyMonkey would be really helpful for this, if i take from nearby people.

Next, I’d analyze the competition. I’d check out existing cafes and mobile coffee services in Terrace, like The Cafenara, Tim Hortons, Starbucks, The Fix, and so on. I’d look at their pricing and offerings to make sure my prices are competitive while still reflecting the quality and uniqueness of my products. I’d also calculate my costs, including ingredients, labor, and operational expenses, to set prices that ensure profitability.

For customer testing, I’d start with a soft launch at local events or popular spots to gather initial feedback. This would help me understand customer preferences and adjust my offerings accordingly. I’d use feedback forms or digital surveys to collect customer opinions on taste, service, and pricing. Regular surveys would help me keep track of changing customer preferences, and engaging with customers on social media platforms would allow me to gather informal feedback and build a loyal customer base.

I could effectively understand the demand, competition, and pricing for my mobile cafe in Terrace, BC.

What are your estimated monthly operating expenses, including inventory, fuel, wages, and maintenance, and what is your expected profit margin per sale?

Based on the numbers, running this mobile café would cost about $4,350 in the first month because of a one-time legal fee. After that, regular monthly expenses would drop to around $3,850. Each month, i am aiming to make about $10,000 in sales by selling coffee and snacks. Once i cover the cost of supplies like coffee beans, milk, and pastries, plus other small expenses like cups and fuel, I’d be left with about $6,500 before paying for things like supplies and loan interest. After taking care of those, you’d have around $5,650 in profit before taxes in the first month, and a little more in the following months since that legal fee is a one-time thing. After paying a 12% tax, you should be bringing home roughly $5,000 a month. In simple terms, for every $10 you make, you get to keep about $5.50 after covering all your costs and taxes, which is a pretty healthy profit margin for a small mobile café.

How do you plan to differentiate your mobile café from established brands like Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and McDonald’s to capture market share?

I plan to differentiate my mobile café by offering a more personal, local experience that big chains like Tim Hortons, Starbucks, and McDonald’s can’t match. My menu will focus on high-quality, handcrafted drinks with unique flavour options and free customizations during special weeks, like Free Topping Week. I’ll partner with local bakeries for fresh, homemade pastries, giving customers a taste of something new and supporting other small businesses in the community. Since I’m mobile, I can set up in high-traffic spots and during local events where big chains aren’t present, making it convenient for people on the go. Plus, through fun promotions, loyalty rewards, and friendly customer interactions, I’ll create a welcoming, community-focused vibe that builds personal connections and keeps people coming back.

What strategies do you have in place to address operational challenges such as market saturation, seasonality (especially cold weather months in Terrace), and logistics?

To tackle challenges like market saturation, seasonality, and logistics, I’ve developed a few key strategies. To stand out in a competitive market, I’ll focus on offering unique, locally-sourced pastries, customized drinks, and building personal relationships with customers. My mobile café will allow me to rotate locations, avoiding over-saturation and keeping things fresh. During colder months in Terrace, I’ll adjust my menu with warming drinks like hot chocolate and seasonal lattes, while ensuring my truck is well-insulated to operate comfortably. I’ll focus on high-traffic indoor locations, such as near offices and Skeena Mall to stay busy despite the cold. For logistics, I’ll plan routes based on customer demand and ensure my truck is always stocked with the right amount of inventory, reducing waste. Regular vehicle maintenance and flexible location scheduling will help me stay agile and minimize downtime. These strategies will keep my business strong year-round, no matter the challenges.

How will you manage daily operations, including inventory management, staffing, vehicle maintenance, and location scheduling?

To manage daily operations for my mobile café, I’ll start each morning by checking inventory, restocking popular items, and cleaning the truck to keep everything fresh and organized. I’ll track sales daily using a notebook or app, which will help me notice what’s selling well and when, so I can adjust my stock and promotions. I’ll handle operations myself at first, but if it gets busy, I’ll bring on a part-time helper. The coffee truck will get a daily clean and a weekly vehicle check, with regular servicing booked to avoid issues. I’ll rotate between busy spots like CMTN, parks, and downtown, choosing locations based on sales patterns and customer feedback. Each day, I’ll also post on Facebook or Instagram to keep customers updated on my location and special offers.

What variety of coffee and pastries will you offer, and will there be options for dietary restrictions like vegan or gluten-free?

I will accept all major forms of payment, including debit, credit, and tap. Cash will also be welcome, but the system will be fully equipped for digital and contactless transactions for convenience.

How do you ensure the quality, consistency, and overall customer experience at your mobile café?

As I am working in Starbucks, I observed that if customers spend 5 to 6 dollars on a drink, in return, they expect quality and quantity. Many times they return the drink because they are not satisfied with the quantity and quality, so I will repeat these errors in my cafe. Quality and consistency will be maintained through staff training( If I need them in the future as according the demand), using high-grade equipment, and sourcing premium beans and ingredients. I will regularly test recipes and gather customer feedback to continuously improve service. Friendly service and fast turnaround will be a top priority.

Will your products, packaging, and overall operation be environmentally friendly?
Yes, sustainability is a big part of my vision. I will be using compostable cups, lids, and packaging wherever possible. Customers will be encouraged to bring their reusable cups through a small discount of 10 cents program to reduce waste.
